"Your circles may be perfect, merely you withal lose."

Indeed that line of dialogue, and there are not many throughout this insipid soporific pill of a motion picture, could non exist more than fitting. Similar that line mentions, on an aesthetical ground everything may exist meticulously controlled, but the terminate event is non more successful considering of that. This coming-of-age tale about voyeurism and sexual repression is suffocated past an exceedingly stylized direction that gives no room for the narrative to breathe freely. The camera movements, the lightening and the dialogue are all wooden whilst the editing seems arbitrary, without any reasoning behind it (which makes sense considering the film was cutting more than twenty minutes afterward its brusque festival run). In the last moments the incestuous sex activity that had been promised is delivered, but somehow fifty-fifty the same fails to inject some energy and life to this pale and utterly lifeless characteristic.

Ah, um filme português. Poucos vi na vida e tinha a ideia de ver Como Desenhar Um Círculo Perfeito há já algum tempo. Agora com o December Projection decidi finalmente ver, east tinha grandes expectativas. Secalhar o problema foi mesmo esse.
Como Desenhar Um Círculo Perfeito foi um filme lento, monótono e aborrecido em geral. O que é pena pois sinto que bone actores tinham tão mais para oferecer. Leva aos dois irmãos do filme a envolverem-se e basicamente é só isso. Desilusão.
I spent the majority of this movie furious with how it seemed to sympathise with a misogynistic incel frickwit of a predatory toolbag (the brother). It wasn't until nearly the terminate that I realized, "Oh... oh. That was the point. Information technology wasn't sympathy at all. They were going somewhere with this."

And how. I've never had my stance of a picture show change and then much, so quickly. Painful, arresting material.
O eterno duelo entre forma east conteúdo. Marco Martins tem uma habilidade inquestionável para filmar. A câmera passeia com elegância pelos cenários eastward registra os corpos com a intimidade que reflete as relações dos personagens. O diretor é bastante talentoso para criar esse clima de clausura familiar e isso dá o suporte necessário para que o protagonista ganhe solidez. No entanto, Martins se apoia demais na "ousadia" de seu plot e o filme parece estancado na proposta.

I liked one sequence in this. I didn't heed the rest of it. I like style-over-substance films, but this one's way was bland. The analogies, the characters, the damn circles... they all produced cypher just a shrug as shortly as the credits rolled.
