Creating a New Profile
The following information applies to Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2010
To create a new profile or add an existing email account in Outlook 2010, go to the File > Info > Add Account option in Microsoft Outlook.
In the Add New E-mail Account window, specify the following settings:
Your Name: The username for the email account to display.
E-mail Address: The email address of the user.
Password: Password for the email account.
Retype Password: Re-enter password.
Click Next to continue and Microsoft Outlook automatically configures the email account.
Optionally if the email server uses special settings or the Microsoft Outlook cannot configure the email account automatically, check Manually configure server settings or additional server types option, click on Next button and configure the server settings manually.
If the configuration successful, the following window appears. Click Finish to complete the configuration.
The following information applies to Outlook 2007
To create a new profile or add an existing email account in Outlook 2007, go to the File > Data File Management option in Microsoft Outlook.
The Account Settings window appears. Click on the E-mail tab > New… button.
In the Add New E-mail Account window, specify the following settings:
Your Name: The username for the email account to display.
E-mail Address: The email address of the user.
Password: Password for the email account.
Retype Password: Re-enter password.
Click Next to continue and Microsoft Outlook automatically configures the email account.
Optionally if the email server uses special settings or the Microsoft Outlook cannot configure the email account automatically, check Manually configure server settings or additional server types option, click on Next button and configure the server settings manually.
If the configuration successful, the following windows appears. Click Finish to complete the configuration.
The following information applies to Outlook 2003
· Open Outlook and select 'Email Accounts' from the 'Tools' menu.
· The 'Email Accounts' dialog will appear. Choose 'Add a new e-mail account' and click 'next.'
· Select the appropriate choice for setting up your e-mail account. Contact your system administrator if you are unsure of the settings.
The following information applies to Outlook 2002 and earlier.
If you do not have a profile or would like to create a new one, follow the steps below:
· Click on the 'Outlook' icon with the right mouse button on your desktop and choose 'Properties' from the pull down menu.
· Press the 'Show Profiles' button and in the new dialog box, click on the 'Add' button. The Exchange Profile Setup Wizard starts and asks which transport services you want the profile to use. Make sure that 'Black Ice Fax Service' is checked and click "Next". After you enter the name of the new profile, you will go through the setup dialogs of the different transport services.
· The Black Ice Service dialog box is below:
Here you have to fill out similar values as in the Property sheets of the Transport Service.
Domain Name You should enter the IP address or
or IP Address domain name of the Impact Fax Server
of the Server: that is installed. For example: yourdomain.com or 127.0.0.1
Full Name: Your name as it will appear on the cover sheet.
Account Your user ID to log onto the server.
Name:
Password: Your password to log onto the server.
Transferring
Messages: Specifies how messages are transferred. If you choose 'On-Line' the outgoing messages are transferred to the server automatically and received faxes are downloaded to the client.
When Off-Line is chosen you can use Exchange Client's or Outlook's 'Remote Mail' feature to mark the received faxes you want to download, copy or delete. While using Remote Mail, you can compose messages and send them to your Outbox at any time and send and receive messages when you connect to your mailbox.
Using Remote Mail is especially useful when you connect to the server temporarily through a phone line, from a laptop computer for example.
Configuring the Impact Fax Server to work with Outlook 2002
Follow the steps below to configure the Impact Fax Server to work with Outlook 2002. Please note: The Impact Fax Server Outlook Client must be installed first. Click here for details on how to install, configure and use the Impact Fax Server Outlook Client.
If you are configuring the client but you are not the user who installed the application, please see the note at the end of this section for special instructions.
1. Open Outlook 2002 and select the Tools menu item and select Options. When the dialog box appears, click on the Mail Setup tab:
2. Click on the E-mail Accounts button. When the dialog box appears, click the Add a new e-mail account radio button and press next.
3. Click the Additional Server Types radio button and press next.
4. Select Impact Fax Service and press next.
5. The following screen will appear where you have to specify several settings:
Settings:
Please note: The settings below are optional; however the information is used by the Outlook / Exchange client when a fax is sent. The information above is placed on the Coversheet of the fax so it should be accurate.
· Full Name: Optional. Enter your name here.
· Company: Optional. Enter your company name here.
· Fax Number: Optional. Enter your fax number here.
The following settings must be set correctly or the Fax Client will not work. The information allows the Fax Client to access the Fax Server in order to send faxes and check for new faxes.
· Domain Name or IP Address of the Server: Enter the Domain Name or IP Address of the Impact Fax Server. For example, yourdomain.com or 127.0.0.1
· Account Name: Your user account name on the Impact Fax Server. Please note: You must have a user account set up on the Fax Server before you enter the information here. Please see the adding a user chapter for more details.
· Password: The password for your user account on the Impact Fax Server.
Press the Apply button and then the OK button. The following message will appear:
Press OK and restart Outlook.
